I don’t understand how anyone can like Thomas off Downton Abbey. He’s scheming and a generally unlikeable person. I mean even O’Brien has her upsides but Thomas is just mean.
Yet in the Downton Abbey tag I see so many people saying how Thomas is their favourite character!
I don’t get it.

I thought you were in the lead until those other super famous look bookers joined in! :( who have like 148000 followers! :P its so annoying isn't it! I feel it isn't based on the diy aspect of the competition and more about popularity ah well thats how fickle fashion is! good luck anyways xx

If you’re the one I’m thinking of, your costume is so pretty! I didn’t see it until after I uploaded mine and I was like “Oh no there’s other sugar skulls that are done really well!”
I have to admit I was a little disheartened when I saw the big names posting their looks because I never expected to win the $500 but when I saw I was in the lead for hypes I had a little glimmer of hope for it. I don’t doubt that the others will slip ahead in hypes now though, considering they have fanbases exceeding 10000 and it’s kind of inevitable. I suppose that part of the competition is swayed towards the lookbookers with the larger fanbases to begin with though.
Although there’s still the judging aspect to keep fingers crossed for!
Hopefully the judging will also give some of the costumes that may not be as high in the hypes ranking a chance at placing.

I just saw that you have 1,400 hypes on your Halloween costume! Maybe it's not really that much in your eyes, but it seems like an incredible thing! Congrats!!

Every time I have a look that exceeds 1000 hype I feel immensely grateful to have a fanbase on lookbook who always give such wonderful feedback. (I feel grateful for the feedback on every look, I just mean when it exceeds 1000 it always seems like a big thing for me)
I’m especially grateful for all the hypes on this one though because of the effort I put into the costume (the facepaint alone took over an hour) and because I really hope I have a shot at placing. I don’t expect to win the $500 to spend at AA, but all the lovely feedback and hypes I’ve received for that costume give me hope that I could place, because even the smallest prize on there would be a massive thing for me. I don’t usually have a lot of spare money to spend on buying new clothes and I would never normally be able to afford to shop at American Apparel.
Sorry for the long winded reply and putting this as public rather than answering you privately but I wanted to let you and anyone else who might think I don’t see 1400 as much hype know that I do see it as a lot and I am immensely grateful for everyone who has given me feedback on this costume! :)
